About the event

Herne Hill is a little South London gem snuggling on the border of Lambeth & Southwark. If you think you know the area you may be surprised and entertained by this one hour walk.

In 2013 there was a flood in the heart of Herne Hill and some of the retail outlets, cafes and restaurants were out of action for months. Flying Boots Eyes on Fire* is an art installation created to re-generate interest and encourage consumers back to the area.

But this was not the only flood this area had experienced and this art installation not the only visible artwork.

We will be meeting at Herne Hill station and weaving in and around this charming village like vicinity exploring the art, history, local colour and some of the personalities past and present. What is the connection between Herne Hill and Bono or Michael Crawford?

I have lived in London…
